Patricia B. Arinto
Assistant Professor, Faculty of Education, UP Open University

Prof. Arinto conducts workshops on integrating computers and the Internet into the curriculum, and on instructional design for distance education courses and programs. Her training in this field includes a PostGraduate Certificate in Technology Based Distributed Learning from the University of British Columbia, Canada; a training program on online course development and delivery conducted by Curtin University of Technology, Australia; a virtual seminar on open and distance learning conducted by the University of Maryland University College and Oldenburg University; and various workshops and international conferences.

Prof. Arinto is one of four faculty members of the University of the Philippines Open University who designed and taught Online Teaching and Learning, a graduate level online course for college and university teachers. She is former director of the Office of Academic Support & Instructional Services of the UP Open University, where she also teaches English language and literature courses.

Prof. Arinto has a BA in Communication Arts (magna cum laude) from the University of the Philippines Tacloban College and an MA in Comparative Literature from the University of the Philippines Diliman. She is pursuing a Doctor of Education degree at the Institute of Education, University of London.
