ERLINDA C. PEFIANCO is currently Center Director of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization –Regional Center for Educational Innovation and Technology (SEAMEO-Innotech). Established in 1970, SEAMEO-Innotech is dedicated to identifying common and unique education problems and needs of Southeast Asian countries, and developing innovative and technology-based solutions to address these problems and needs. The Center develops programs on training, human resource development, research and evaluation, and on information and communication technologies that address the specific areas of concern in Southeast Asian education.

In 1998, Dr. Pefianco was Secretary of the then Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS), where she had earlier served as an Undersecretary for Programs and Projects. She is presently a Commissioner of UNESCO of the Philippines and serves as chairperson of the education committee. She is a member of various international professional and academic organizations and sits on the board of several universities in the Philippines.

Dr. Pefianco is currently chief editor of the Southeast Asia Journal of Education and has written numerous scholarly articles and papers in the fields of education, accounting, and business administration.
